If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Despite regular rotations, my replacement Michelin tires have already worn out. I am looking to replace them. I wasn't impressed with the tread life or the road noise on the Michelin's. Has anyone here crossed this bridge and had a better result with a different tire on their 2015 3.8 Genesis?

Thanks dougmcp. Have you purchased these tires and are they quiet? I live in Texas so we deal with more of a heat factor than snow.

I can also attest to how excellent the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06's are. I had them on my Infiniti G37 and not only did they have great performance in dry and rainy conditions but they were extremely quiet, rode silky smooth, and never gave me an issue in the snow. When my Michelins wear out I will definitely be replacing them with those tires.

Not yet but I have a friend who put them on his Caddy CTS and they are quiet. I live in the heat zone too but it rains here as well, they are highly rated and will be my next tire on my Gen 1.

I have the Conti DWS 06s on my Genesis.
It's probably the best All Season tire available if you get any snow use.
Another highly rated tire is the Michelin Premier A/S, but I think it's more money. The advantage on that one is wear rating IIRC, but not quite as good in the snow.

I'm at 25k on my original Michelins and they're down to about 5/16s so I'm guessing another 3k to 5k miles left on them. Not as many as I had expected when I purchased the car. Anybody have thoughts on the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus?

If believe that your Michelins are wearing prematurely, go to a Discount Tire store and ask if the store can get Michelin to pro-rate them on a new set of Michelin Premiers. I also live in Texas and have found the Premiers to provide a smooth and quiet ride with good handling in dry and wet weather (have not driven in snow).

The worst thing that can happen is Michelin will refuse. It certainly doesn't hurt to ask and you could save some money.

Thanks for all of the input. I battled with Michelin tires wearing prematurely on my 2009 Genesis the last four years that I owned it. The OEM Dunlop tires on my 2009, lasted longer than the sets of Michelin's that followed. Because of that, I've decided to try the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 on my 2015 Genesis. Hopefully, the Continental's will stop me from being a frequent Discount Tire buyer.

I can attest to the performance of the Continental Extreme Contact tires. I put them on my 2012 Genesis and they were great. I'm sorry I was not able to use them when Genesis made the tire exchange in 2015/2016. I've been driving the Michelins following the exchange and I'm very nervous using them when driving in snow/slush. During the past two major snow events in the Cleveland (OH) area, the Michelin tires were terrible. They did not grip and were subject to siding causing me to drive between 25-40 mph while other cars appeared to be safely driving at 50-60 mph. In addition, when I make turns on regular non-snowy or wet surfaces, the tires feel like they are slipping and/or not gripping the pavement. I also feel like the belts in the tires are slipping but I'm not getting excessive noise or vibration that is typical when belts break. I contacted my dealer who stated that they have not had any complaints but I'm turning to the greater Genesis family for assistance. I currently have 29K miles on the replacement Michelins but I will not go through another winter using these Michelins. Has anyone else had a similar experience.

I am not sure exactly which Michelin tires you have had in the past, but they make many different models with different characteristics. Some emphasize long tread life, and some emphasize quite ride, or handling, braking, fuel economy, etc. So you have to look at all the different models to get the characteristics you want. Generally, there is a trade off between long tread life and smooth riding, although some of the newer tire tread compounds do a decent job on both objectives, but they are not cheap.

I would look at the ratings on www.tirerack.com to help you choose the best tire (or at least narrow the choices down).

Also, one of the keys to long tread life is to make sure they are inflated properly, and would be a good thing to use 2 PSI over the recommended pressure (on the sticker inside of the driver door jamb).

I previously posted a comment on the Pirelli P-Zero All Season Plus tires I purchased last year. Very quiet and smooth and highly rated by consumer Reports. I'd buy them again in a minute.

Would anyone care to comment for me on the Pirelli PZeros or the Centurato plus. I am currently running the oem Michelin’s on my 2016 Genesis and with only 14,000 miles I find them very loud.
Thanks for any info folks

I have Michelin Pilot A/S 3 tires and they are very quiet and handle very well. However, my tires are fairly new so I can not comment of the thread life at the moment.

I'd definitely swing by and see if you can get a discount from Michelin. Remember, you can use the discount on Michelin, BFGoodrich, Kleber, Tigar, Riken, Kormoran and Uniroyal

Don't buy Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus. They don't last. They worn out after 15k miles. Discount Tire didn't even want to balance them at the point and offered me $25 per tire.

Thanks for the reply. Scares me to purchase anything right now. I’ve always been a Michelin guy but the Primacy tires on this car make it sound like I’m driving on top of a helicopter. These started making a difference at 11,000 miles and have progressively gotten worse. Tire Rack shows a Michelin Pilot ranked #2 so I may look at those or the Pirelli tire line

Here's another thought. If Michelin does offer you a signficant discount, you could take the tires and turn around and sell them. Just thinking out loud here...trying to get you any money you can get.

Ahhhh good thought. There’s some really good reviews on the Centrauto Plus Pirelli but on other vehicles perhaps not as heavy as the Genesis is. And to add to the mess I’m up in NE Ohio and the roads suck here so ride quality is what I’m after. On nice highways these ride very well but are very noisy

o_O 15k miles? Damn, that is not long at all. They were already installed on the car I just bought, so no cost to me. However, if they only last 15k miles then I will be going with Continental DWS extreme tires when I replace them.

The Pilot A/S 3 are great tires though.
