Replacing OEM Dunlop tires

Has anyone replaced the original Dunlop SP Sport 5000 M 235/50R18 tires with another tire? If so, what tire did you use purchase and what were the results?

problems with tires already? I prefer bridgestone and toyo tires myself out of all the different tires I have used as far as quality and noise.

No problem. I am just fond of Michelin and would like to get something a bit more winter friendly. This is more a matter of taste than anything else!

Actually, I am not considering winter tires. Simply replacements for the Dunlops.

For Michelins, I recommend Pilot Sport A/S if you want a good all-season:

I put them on my grandparents LS 430 and it didn't hurt the ride quality or noise, and I believe it also came on Dunlops from the factory. We don't see much snow here but it's nice to know they're capable when it does hit. As you can see in the reviews they're extremely capable in summer / dry weather too.

The Bridgestone Potenza RE750 is a great summer-only tire.

As much as I love Bridgestone on my cars, do not consider their RE92 "High Performance All Season" tire! They were stock on my Subaru and were some of the worst tires I've ever owned. I replaced them at 11k miles with RE 750s and haven't looked back.

I have not had any problems with the Dunlops but when they wear out I'll be replacing them with Bridgestone Potenza Series tires. I have had two sets of them on my Subaru WRX STI and they are the best tires I have ever owned!!!

I'm like GS300Rich- What are winter tires??! In East Texas, it's 66 right now.

I only remember the steel studded tires my Dad put on our station wagon when I was a kid.

QUESTION- IF I wanted to swap out the Dunlops for Bridgestone, Yoka, etc., is there any place that will give any real $$ for the almost brand new Dunlops?

I concur on the Bridgestone RE92's.
I also had them on my Legacy GT wagon and they were pretty lame.

we have Blizzaks on our car right now, they work great in the winter snow we get here.
When spring comes along we will put the OEM tires back on...

How about a good all season tire? I'm in MN and looking for something all year round... MUST be able to handle a decent snow fall. But in the summer, I would like something that performs as well. Not interested in swapping tires each year... Summer/Winter. I have the 4.6, so I need something that can handle high MPH as well!

We had a set of Goodyear TripleTred Assurance on our minivan a year or two ago, and those were very, very good in the snow. Almost ast good as dedicated snow tires. If they make a set in a size that fits the Genesis, I highly recommend them as an all-season tire. And they have a very good tread wear rating/warranty.

Also ask your Hyundai Dealer. Not nreally to buy the tires from them, but for recommendations. I had an XG 350L that ATE tires. Amost 30K was all I got from the originals (Michelins) and their replacements, (Goodyear Triples). My dealer told me that the car really needed a harder formulation tire. Replaced the Goodyears with some Yokahama's and they were still in very good shape when I traded in the XG with 40K plus on them.

Handling is another issue, but I really didn't see much difference in the XG between brands (except perhaps tire noise), with the Yokahama's being the quietest as well.

I have Michelin Pilot sport AS all season high performance tires on one of my cars. We have 6 to 8 inches of snow the last few days and I have no problem driving on snow covered roads.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season have made a big diffence in snow traction. I now feel like I can control the car. Goodyear must make the Dunlop for the southern market. I've been buying tires from the same family for 40 years. Paid $1100 total, $933.00 for the 4 tires. V8
