  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello All,

I'll be getting a Himalayan Grey / Black GV70 soon, which I'm beyond excited for, but my first choice was Himalayan Grey / Ultramarine Blue which is sadly not available in the US. I want to try and recapture some of the subtle red accents which has led me to looking for replacement red seat belts.

Does anyone know if it's possible to order the original red seatbelts by themselves that come in the ultramarine blue interior, whether myself or through a dealer somehow?

If not, do you have any suggestions for good aftermarket seat belts, or even advice on replacing seat belts? Am I going to have to do something like rewebbing where I have the factory mechanisms shipped somewhere and the belt added and shipped back? Is this a bad idea that could impact overall safety or reliability? If I have it done it will be by a professional auto shop and not myself.

Thanks for any help at all!

Here's a conversation of what you're asking that happened on Facebook group between a fella and myself. Let's just say it's not worth it. Hope you'll be able to figure it out. All the best with the decision.Screenshot_20220119-014717~4.webp

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I also wanted the Ultramarine interior with the red belts but the wife used her veto power. So I'm getting the black quilted interior. My plan is to send in my seatbelts to seatbeltplanet.com and have the Genesis hardware rewebbed with a custom color to match the white-ish stitching of the black interior. I received my sample colors of belts yesterday from seatbeltplanet and now just waiting on the GV70 to get here so I can find the color that matches.

Be forewarned though, the rewebbing isn't much cheaper than buying the OEM red belts from Genesis and if they don't already have GV70 belts you have to send in your hardware and wait for them to return the before you could (safely) drive your car.

This place actually looks to be a lot cheaper but also has a smaller selection of colors. I'm going to try to order samples from this place as well.

FYI. An alternative to the red seat belts as accents. The ambient lighting can be made red. Granted, it'll only light at night, but still...better than paying $1400 for the belts.

Thanks for the insight! I share your opinions, would do it for $500 or so but $1400 is a lot just to change the color.

I thought about that too and will most likely have it on red 😀

I was actually looking into seatbelt planet so this is very helpful. If you could please keep me updated on what you end up with I would be hugely appreciative!
