  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I always park my car at the same outdoor spot, but half the time in the morning remote start is not successful, just when I need it the most. Anymore having the same issue? Thanks.
I have free blue link for 3 months but I don't think I'll pay for it after that.

Is your car locked? Are the windows all up? Is the status anything other than "all clear"? Do you have ATT cellular service where the car is parked?

Yeah all those preconditions are met. I park at the same exact spot every day. Blue link just fails randomly.

Do you get any failed message back?

Yes. I would get app and email notifications saying:
Your request for Remote Start with Climate Control on 11/20/2019 at 09:55 am EST was not processed. The feature is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

I get same error message about 25% of the time I use the remote start via my phone app. Drives me crazy, especially when I know the car will be covered with frost and bitterly cold. Note that my car stays outside 24/7.

For the amount of $$$$ we pay for this service, you'd think they'd make sure it runs as smoothly as possible.

Mine has been much better recently but I've had that message plenty of times. I don't know if it is an overload of the BlueLink servers or ability to communicate with the car.

Using the widget instead of the app makes it much easier to use it though.

I get about a 1 in 5 failure rate... Usually takes a bit for it to process though. Guess it's because the car only has a 3G modem...

During my 3-month trial, I had it happen twice in about 15 starts. Surprised me the first time, yet went through on the second try. I suspect the servers and/or comm-link as EdP and skip mentioned.

Been debating about hooking it back up but they're gonna have to give me a deal. What widget are you referring to Ed?

how is the Verizon signal in your area..

Genesis uses the Verizon CDMA network in the US, and in my area it sucks balls. ATT oversteps them and I couldn't get signal in home or within about a 2 mile radius.

I complained so much to Verizon about it, they finally sent someone to my house with an LTE booster amplifier and antenna and mounted it on my roof (amp in my attic). I went from 1 bar to 5 bars and haven't had an issue with Genesis remote start since.. plus they give me a $20 a month credit for using my house as a repeater location for their service..

It came with a recent app update. Just hold a finger on the phone screen to bring up Widgets. Then go to the Genesis and tap it for a selection of 5 of them. I use the Start but there is one for POI search too. Once installed on the screen, just tap and it opens for your pin. Fast and easy.

Not sure who brought it up but it was in a post a few weeks ago. Simplifies starting.

I have both Genesis and Hyundai apps installed on my device. If one does not work, the other usually does. It drives me nuts but it is what it is...

Thank you, Gentlemen. (y)

I have the same issue where only about 1 in 3 attempts is successful. Annoying.

Have you tried both, Genesis and Hyundai apps?

I sometimes try the remote start and for hours receive the same message saying request was not processed and the feature is currently unavailable. I called customer service today to find out whey this is happens and he said I had to reset something in the car. I told him that is not the problem. This happens quite frequently, then all of a sudden it works. The service rep had no clue - as if he never heard this complaint before. They just read from a script. No clue!

Spotty cell service will make it flaky too - the head unit just has a 3G modem, at least for 2015-2016...
