  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It seems the auto-reset feature didn't work for the US fall back from daylight savings time today. After researching how to reset the clock on my 2015 Genesis, via the voice control settings on the Nav system, it was pretty cool watching the analog clock adjust.

What auto-reset? There is a checkbox in clock settings which you check or uncheck depending on the fall or spring. Once you do that, it adjust the analog clock automatically.

On page 29 of this customer walk through it refers to checking off "GPS time" which adjusts time automatically not only for DST but even when you drive into another time zone. Now how neat is that? Unfortunately or maybe I should say fortunately, I am in Florida on vacation and my car is at the airport for another 10 days or so and do not know if it actually worked or not.

In the setting menu I unchecked the "daylight savings time" box and the clock went to the correct time. It did not adjust automatically. I have two clock questions please.

There is an option in the settings where the clock can be set as a screen saver. The option allows you to choose either the clock or nothing as a screen saver. I've never seen the screen saver. How can I see the screen saver?

Also is there a way to show an analog clock on the large screen? Mine is always digital. I know about the option to choose digital or analog but my large screen always shows a digital clock.

I unchecked the DST box and the time adjusted automatically to the correct time. Go figure by having the DST box checked, the time was not initially correct.

Maybe you had the wrong time set. I would check DST and manually set to the correct time.

No. The time was correct and needed to be set back an hour. Like I previously stated, the DST box was checked, but remained an hour ahead. After unchecking the DST box, the time automatically adjusted an hour back.

OK, so it does not automatically adjust for DST time? It only changes the time by one hour depending on whether DST is check or not? If so, that means you have to manually adjust DST twice a year?

Yep, that's how I am reading this also. But I guess since there are some places that do not use DST (Arizona, Hawaii ) they must do it this way. It also will account for any changes made such as changing the time of year we change DST and if a state/province opts out/in in the future.

Mine remained an hour ahead and did not automatically adjust to the correct time until I unchecked the DST box.

I think that is right. DST cutover date varies by country, and it wasn't long ago that the US changed the cutover dates, so it could change again. PC's know when to cutover, because they receive software updates via the internet, but obviously the Genesis is not connected to the internet.

My Lexus LS460 never automatically changed time. There was just a DST box to check and it switched. It only takes a couple of seconds so it wouldn't bother me for the Genesis to be the same.

Better than using a paper clip to push a small hole on nav unit and manually change time (on my 2004 Jeep).

But it is connected to gps and radio, both of which have a time stamp. There is a box to check to use gps time and one would assume this is for the purpose of auto adjusting for dst. I don't think it worked as intended.

Definitely seems like a miss by Hyundai. I would have expected the car to ask me if I wanted it to adjust the time automatically for me.

The GPS time adjustment is when you drive into another time zone,I recently took a longer trip and had to change time from EST to the next one west,I forgot the name :) so the clock changed automatically. If you unchecked the GPS time change ,it won't change time if you take a cross country drive :)

Agree!

Hahaha, it took me 20 seconds to reset the clock in my obsolete Genesis.

This is something really minor.....
