  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Simple question- will your engine rev to redline? Mine shifts about 6200 rpm in either automatic or manumatic mode.

Yeah it's supposed to shift before it gets to the redline. You don't need to be there to acccess the power of the V8, not to mention the potential damage you're doing to the engine and transmission if it didn't.

Yeah, mine shifts a little early also.

Max. engine HP and torque are at less than max. RPM and so there's little value in shifting at max. RPM.

I don't know jack about cars.. but i've been able to get my RPM to redline a few times when hitting the gas hard in low gears. Not sure if thats a good or bad thing...
