Road rash

My front bumper seems highly susceptible to road rash. I haven't done much highway driving in my genny. The little bit of highway driving I have done has been in clear weather on a clean road surface. I'm completely confused as to what is seeming eating the paint away on my front bumper.
The only thing I can think of is that the previous owner had the front bumper cheaply repainted and now it's just chipping off..
I can't imagine this is a hyundai quality control issue.
Anyone else come across paint issues like this?

I think you have answered your own question. Cheap paint from a previous repair. My car has over 187,000 miles on it, mostly highway, in all kinds of road conditions and I do not have many paint chips in my front bumper. I do have some which mostly come from trucks throwing small rocks up on the Interstate.

Mine only has 30k on it, but put a thousand miles a month on it (a shame really). Whenever I've gotten chips from rocks, it only takes the paint from the impact area. There hasn't been a spreading effect like what you describe, and it's been a couple of months.
