  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys!

So i've made the decision to move from Los Angeles to Oklahoma City! It was the perfect timing and the perfect Job opportunity,

Now i'll be making the trip at the end of May in the Genny. I'm sure it will be a smooth trip riding all those miles (1,300 miles), But i wanted to see if you guys had any recommendations on places to stop?

Also is there anyone here from Oklahoma City or Metro area?

Thanks guys!
Patrick

I've driven that route a couple of times but too long ago to recommend a specific spot. If you have the time though, get off the highway and go through a couple of towns. Breaks up a couple of the long stretches of nothing along the way.

Well remember moving to Phx in 1968 traveling on Route 66 out Ok. a fun and fascinating drive on two lane highways thru lots of little towns.

Are you selling a home in LA?

Hey, I'm in OKC. Longest route I've driven is from OKC to Flagstaff many yrs ago.

Cadillac Ranch outside of Amarillo is a nice landmark.

Clines Corner in NM is a pretty big souvenir store. Both are along the highway so there's no extra commute time.

Good luck with the move and let me know if you have any questions!

We drove OKC to CA several years ago; made a detour to the Grand Canyon; stopped at Sandia Peak and zoo (BioPark and Aquarium--or something like that) in Albuquerque; and stopped by Sedona.

Man, thanks so much guys for all the feedback!!

Stocked to the trip but also nervous since it is a long drive and by myself!

It might be a longer trip than expected with all these great recommendations for food!! I love my food!

Glennk, yes i'm selling a home here. :)

OKCGuy, let's keep in touch, i'll give you a shout once i get there and am all settled in. Was just out there last month, but only for a few days and loved the people.. Everyone was super friendly, nothing like here in Cali!

I'm up the turnpike in T-Town. Have fun on your trip!

Oh, how i will miss the LA traffic...
