  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone experienced this?

Noticed this morning that the car's roof around the rear left corner of my moonroof is raised into a visible "lip", whereas the right rear roof is totally flush with the adjacent moonroof.

I've attached 2 images to show this - it's more obvious in person, but hopefully you'll get the idea.

This is a 2013 3.8 Genesis sedan, tech package, just purchased mid December, now with <3000 miles on it.

Thanks!
J

My 2012 does the exact same thing. Brought it to my dealer's attention during trip for oil change. Told me "perfectly even." It is visibly different. I just watch it and know it is documented. Will be curious the answer you get.

Was it like that when purchased and you are just now noticing it, or did it happen recently?

Nothing's happened to the car in the past 5 weeks that I've owned it to cause that, so I think it's always been there, and I'm just noticing it now.

I have a 2009; had an issue where moonroof finally would not retract normally because of misalignment just about when warranty was to expire. This was during the winter season. Turns out, the dealer needed the car for almost 3 weeks because they couldn't get everything back together quite the same. It was a sloppy job. I took it back a couple times thereafter, finally got it in place the right way because it showed uneven placement when using. I think I wont use it now that its out of warranty. I was told it was the motor, had to replace it which caused the misalignment. Thats all they could tell me. If anyone had the same issue, notice if all your overhead buttons are in place. I didn't notice until over a year after the job. On passengers side, under the visor, when you pull visor out to keep sun from hitting you from passenger door, there is a button. Well on my car, there "was" just like on the drivers side. Ordered the button thinking they may have forgotten reinstalling but, couldn't get it in. Maybe the dealer had the same issue. Anyone else had the same issue?

My 2011 has depressions on the roof at the corners of the sunroof. It looks as though someone pushed down too hard when installing the glass. Any one else?

My 2012 Rspec same thing happened I popped up for ventilation and when I tried to close it, it wouldn't I couldn't retract it back either it was not aligned and could not close. The Hyundai dealer had it for three weeks for a part that was on back order because of demand for that part. It has to do with the slide mechanism. You have to try to tell them that this is an on going problem with these cars and if you and dealer can work something out ..good luck

Service history on my 2012 shows a couple dealer warranty trips for "roof trim" before I bought it. I have no issues with it now.
