  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The rubber piece around the outside trunk release handle was torn/rotted so I bought a new OEM piece but have no idea how to install it. Can someone here give me some directions or do I need to take it to the dealer for installation? Reluctant to take it back to the local dealer because they charged me almost $500 for the 37,500 service. I should have said they only charged me $430; $70 of the total was for installing the front mud guards which I bought online and supplied to them. I put the rear ones on myself and it took me maybe 10 minutes. Wow! 70 bucks for 10 minutes work. Any help installing the trunk release rubber would be greatly appreciated. 2015 Genesis Sedan 3.8

Never mind, I found instructions elsewhere on this site.

Where did you buy the replacement?

Where did you buy the replacement?
Bought it on eBay. There are lots of them there. Be careful though, the one on my car has two electrical leads going to it and the one I bought only had one. It's a pain in the butt taking everything off the truck and then finding out I had the wrong part. The seller is refunding the purchase price and is paying the shipping costs to return it. I paid $45 for the part and $5 shipping.
