  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

 Are any of you doing rust proofing on your horse

I plan on purchassing mine and keeping it for 6 years.

Up here in the great white north, they ley down a hole lot od salt on the roads in the winer months. I know that the perforation waranty is 5years but what about surface rust?

Let me know about your toughts.

Unless you see a bunch of rust-eaten 750's or S classes tooling around Montreal, I wouldn't worry about it. Though your dealer would probably love you if you did it.

Do you mean that a bunch of rust-eaten 750's or S classes would indicate that the Equus will or will not rust in Montreal?

I know th dealer wants to sell the rust proofing, but...

With most of my domesic vehicules, i used to get the rust proofing done ( independently ), hell it worked. I kept my 94 5.0 Mustang for 10 years with out a spot of rust.

Just wondering if the new Equus needs it or not.

No rustproofing company will warranty against surface rust. Only for rust through.

Don't throw your money away. Just wash it when you can.

:) Very good points you all bring up.

I'm tempted to try it bare this time.

I can see were your comming from saying that it should have a better quality finish.

Still a few weeks before the horse gets here so I have time to think about it.

Thank's to all
