  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well......
Family is growing and have a business at the local ski resort. I traded it for a Grand Cherokee Overland.
I have been without my genni for a month now and I miss it every day. Despite its few flaws, it is still my favorite car I have ever owned.

I love my 2012 R-spec but have to admit my lifetime favorite would have been my 1985 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. Not near as many bells and whistles but sure was fun to drive. Surprisingly, both cars got about 28 MPG highway even though the T-bird was a 4-banger.

I will definitely be buying another first gen r-spec in the next year or two. But for now I am stuck with my jeep and my f150

I just bid farewell to my 2013 R-spec last week. It was replaced with a 2015 5.0 ultimate. I miss the somewhat more "raw" acceleration the 2013 had but he ultimate is in another class entirely. Enjoy the Jeep and we will see you back soon.

Sad day indeed. Hope it found a good new home.

This is what I miss about mine too. Went from the 4.6L to a 5.0L Kia and the 8 speed trans kills raw acceleration. I wish I had my 6 speed back :(

Now I've got to disagree with that statement altogether. Nothin' wrong with how the 8 speed handles acceleration. Everything else being the same (which it isn't, of course), I'd put my money on the 8-speed.

The 8 speed is one reason the 5.0 is so much faster than the 4.6 cars. It allows for a shorter ratio rear end and the additional cogs in the trans allow for freeway speeds at reasonable rpm's. The 8 speed is what makes the shorter rear end viable on the 5.0's.

Last month, I too, replaced my 2013 R-spec with a 5.0 Ultimate. Was sad at first, but now i wouldn't go back to first gen.

I should buy it back. They are taking a 6k loss on it from what they paid me for it. They did get my spare factory rims and my aftermarket summer rims and tires. It's pictured with the winter rims and tires.

Also DavidHanLee I have two well worn 19 stocker Dunlop's in my garage if you want them. They are pretty much toast other than to do smoke shows or as spares. But you could have them for free if you pick them up

I'll speak to my boss and see if he wants them for his 19" R-SPEC spares.

It is so easy to get off topic in this forum. R.I.P. to your R Spec, brother. We'll keep the flag flying.
