My son in law is trying to sell me his samsung galaxy S4 since he just upgraded. I have an I Phone 4s now. Does the samsung work well with the Genesis?
 
My Galaxy S4 (ATT version) paired the first time without any problem. Works perfectly.
 
I had a galaxy s3 that worked with my 2009 and 2013 Genesis
I now have a galaxy s5 that works perfectly with my 2013 Genesis.

That would certainly make me think that you shouldn't have any problems with your S4.
 
The S4 works in the Gen2, but not in the Gen1.
