My local Columbia SC Hyundai/Genesis dealership, Jim Hudson Automotive Group, just announced that they have sold the franchise to Peacock Automotive Group (Car Dealerships South Carolina & Georgia | Peacock Automotive) with dealerships in SC, GA, and FL.

REGARDING CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP AT 310 GREYSTONE BOULEVARD LOCATION - HYUNDAI & GENESIS
Jim Hudson Automotive Group has been the leader in the Columbia automotive retail market for 38 years. During this time, it has been my privilege to serve you and your family as loyal Jim Hudson Hyundai and Genesis customers.
I am writing to inform you that the Jim Hudson Hyundai dealership has been acquired by Peacock Automotive Group. Peacock Hyundai Columbia will begin serving Columbia as your Hyundai and Genesis dealer at 310 Greystone Boulevard effective June 26th.
Jim Hudson Automotive Group will continue to operate our seven other dealership locations in Columbia and Augusta, Georgia. We thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your family and wish you happiness, health and success in 2018 and beyond.

There had been speculation for several months about a change. It is unclear whether this is in any way related to the Hyundai/Genesis franchise issues. I can relate that the Hudson group was not happy with the initial denial of a Genesis franchise or the continuing uncertainty about future franchises.
At this time I don't have any specific insight as to how this will affect the Hyundai/Genesis franchise or customer relations. The Peacock Automotive Group has 4 Hyundai/Genesis franchises in Hilton Head SC, Savannah GA, and now Columbia SC.
Time will tell.
