  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

while I was loading a flat screen TV through the trunk, I put a 1/4 inch scratch on the top bumper, whats the best way to fix this?

That would depend on many things. Where is the exact location? How deep is it? How Wide? Is it all the way through to the cover? etc. The absolute best way is to have it sanded and painted. If it is not in too visible a spot this could be done fairly easily by a competent body shop. I once had a pretty bad scratch in a door handle. I asked my dealer who they would use to fix it. They told me they had a guy that came around and fixed little nicks and dings etc., no body work involved. I will tell you that the repair was damn near perfect. I am not familiar with any of the commercial scratch repair products out there so maybe someone else could chime in on them. For me the scratch is either bad enough to have a pro fix it or I do not worry about them.

just a paint peel enough to show the black plastic on the top part of bumper, its like a FLY is sitting on it.:)

My wife dropped a microphone on my back bumper. Same issue.... I now have a 1/4" spot that's black on the bumper. I thought about touching it up with touch up paint but decided against it because you will still see the problem. So I checked with my dealer, they recommended me to a Bodyshop that does repairs for them on new cars. I talked to them and they are going to repair and repaint a portion of the bumper for $160. I will be doing this on Friday. If it was the front bumper I would just touch it up with touch up paint as there will be plenty more dings coming, but for the rear bumper I figured I should get it done professionally.
