Screen black please wait long time after starting

MY NAV SOMETIMES STAYS BLACK WITH PLEASE WAIT FOR A LONG TIME AND SOMETIMES IT WORKS RIGHT AWAY??
dealer wants to reflash system but I would lose my phone book 140 numbers and then put them in one at a time again real pain..SO I JUST LIVE WITH IT DON'T USE NAV BECAUSE MINE DOES NOT WORK ..it tells me to go wrong way as the crow flys and in nyc thats crazy
CAN ANYBODY HELP ?--CAN'T TRUST NAV !!!!!!!!
ALSO IPOD LOCKS UP ,PLAYS WHAT IT WANTS SOMETIMES,----I HAD HEAD UNIT REPLACED BUT ALL THAT DID WAS CHANGE THE WAY IT ACTS BY ITSELF.....PHONE WORKS AND RADIO --SO THAT I JUST GAVE UP !!!!
OTHER THAN THAT ENJOYING THE CAR

So you can let the dealer fix it and re-enter 140 numbers, or live with it broken.
What kind of help are you looking for? Seems you have 2 choices.
But if you're asking for opinions, mine is to get it fixed.

I would have the dealer try to fix it. Better to have to re-enter the phonebook once more than have the problems for the rest of owning the vehicle. Also typing with capital letters seems like you are yelling.

WENT TO DEALER !!! no help same thing ,thinking of trying another dealer anybody got any ideas for me thanks --they claim that they putnew head unit in ???? but same radio ID ? is the xm ID with the amp ?
