  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is there a way to disable the annoying seat belt chime.
Thanks for any leads.

Thank you for posting this in the "Technical" forum. I'm just going to move it into the main Coupe area for the time being (to get more attention).

The best way I know of to disable the seat belt chime, is to buckle your seat belt.

There's a document in the electronic owner's manual thread somewhere here that talks about the various chiming, along with circuit drawings, if I recall correctly. If not there, then perhaps the service information on hmaservice.com.

Give my regards to Smokey when you get pulled over on a click it ticket.

Yikes, I think rewiring will perhaps stop chime, but what about the dash light?
I agree with Bob- Click it!

Did you guys read something that I didn't write?
I said nothing about not using seat belts. I asked about the chimes.

Since the chime only activates if the driver's or passenger's seat belts are not fastened, it's not an unreasonable assumption. To be fair, you could be like my wife, who starts the car before buckling up or sometimes starts driving off while doing so.

If its anything like my buddies tiburon he pulled part that is attached to the seat towards him and after holding it there so long it stayed and has not chimmed since!
