  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi!
Had 23 G70 2.0 Sport totaled just 2 months into ownership :(
Have a 21 3.3T Sport w/ prestige pkg arriving via Vroom in the next 2 weeks. can't wait to get back into another G70, and glad to find the 21 w/ the larger motor and Brembos. Gonna be fun! look forward to seeing what you've done and what issues can be resolved w/ some DIY :)

Welcome aboard, Brad! And thank you for signing up. Sorry to hear about the accident. I hope nobody was hurt... In any event, I'm glad to hear you're getting back into a Genesis G70. What kind of mods do you have planned?

Thanks Sal,
Nobody hurt, it was the result of a heat stroke, and lost consciousness, veered off road into a pole fence. At least we have the big motor now :) Did several mods on an Infiniti G (coilovers, BBK, test pipes, vinyl wrapping, etc.). Probably keep this one simple like better brake pads and some accents like a spoiler and some black trim. Haven't actually seen our G70 in person and if that black chrome trim is clouding I'll probably wrap that. I know the tires are shot Doriginal Michelin Summers on the front & some Chinese crappies on the rear (since it was a lease I assume they were just trying to put the cheapest tires on it to get it to the finish line). Have some Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 plus ordered since I deal w/ cold weather often so have to get the all-seasons

Hey, I'm glad you were okay after that. Man, that sounds scary as heck... I guess the Genesis did a good job protecting you... How did you like your previous G70 compared to the Infiniti G?

I liked the previous G70 for the style & features, but the 2.0 isn't really a great choice to go w/ such a well balanced chassis, it's screaming for more power :) I will say, the awesome protection in an accident was one big factor in getting another G70, so thankful for that engineering :)
I liked the Infiniti much better for performance and driving dynamics.

I can't wait to get the 3.3T, I think that will be quite a step up from the Infiniti, and the G70 looks are spot-on IMO!

Enclosed are pics the Infiniti, then the wrecked 23 G70 2.0, and the incoming 21 G70 3.3T

Can't copy & paste these so here's my Infiniti link~

Yikes! I had heat stroke once, not fun. It can kill you even without driving into a pole. Glad nobody was hurt. (It took me weeks to recover from heat stroke)
Enjoy the new ride!

I'm highly confident you'll forget all about the Infiniti G AND the previous G70 once you start cruising around in the new one. And I'm glad to see the Genesis did a good job protecting you...

So true, have been scouring the forum and seeing so many nice G70s, going to be tough to fight the itch to mod, because once it starts it's way too hard to stop :)
And yeah, the safety features and tech w/ the G70 made it easy to choose another one for sure!

If you have an addictive personality, don't buy a JB4. :p

Ok, got the G70 today, sure glad to finally be back in one, and a much faster one too! Was super clean, and already have the new Continental DWS 06 plus tires on :) Love the Heads up display and Napa leather seats vs. the 23 2.0 we had :)

Congratulations! Glad to see you're back in a G70 - and a faster one. :)

@Sal Collaziano - Since @blnewto asked, what pads do you recommend?
Front pads were down to about 4mm so I just ordered these, hopefully will work well and being a low metallic maybe they'll have a bit more bite than a typical ceramic. I've had Dynamic Friction pads before and they seemed to be a decent upgrade so we'll see :)
They have them at Rockauto too
