  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

my max has the headlights stay on when ylu shut off the car and they remain on for 30 seconds after arming the vehicle... a possibility for the gen?

Hm, thought I replied to this post... Sorry, I didn't ask that right. I knew it isn't an option, but was wondering how difficult or if at all possible it would be to install a feature like that to the genesis and possible cost estimate...

thanks

The Genesis has Homelink built-in (on the rear-view mirror). You can purchase Homelink lighting for your house, so you can turn on-off lights from inside your car. That might help in some situations (if you own your own home) but obviously may not help in all situations.

If you start messing with the lighting system to achieve the features you want, it would probably be expensive and would void the warranty on the electrical system, and possibly increase the likelihood of electrical problems that could cause you to be stranded, which would significantly increase your exposure to potentially dangerous situations.

no, not Homelink, the actual vehicle headlights... when I turn off the engine to my Max, the headlights remain ON, and then after arming the vehicle they stay on for 30 secs until the shut off, that is what I was referring to, I think I needa timing relay or something

Yeah, I understood what you want. The answer is NO. The next best thing may be Homelink.

If you try to change the electrical system, you may cause problems that could void the warranty, not to mention that you could end up stranded somewhere on a lonely dark road, which means you will likely be consumed by werewolves.

werewolves, eh? Around these parts we only have the Sasquatch... I like homelink, but that doesn't help me in the parking lots of stores and such, especially since my home is all motion activated anyhow. appreciate it though

I agree that it should have the security headlights as well as daytime running lights. They are both saftey items and usually included in LUXURY CARS
