If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Greetings, fellow GV60 owners! I'm reaching out from Australia to inquire if any of you have experienced issues with 350KW fast charger (I used Evie 350KW charger). My 2023 GV60 Advanced model appears to be disconnecting from the charger within seconds of initiating the charging process. I initially thought the charger might be at fault, but after speaking with Evie support and trying another charger, the issue persisted. Interestingly, a BYD Seal and a BMW iX successfully charged using the same units after I left the charging space.
Genesis assessed my car and found no issues. I was then booked to a Hyundai dealership, but my vehicle couldn't be tested since they don't have a 350KW charger available. In addition, they did not bother to check if anything was wrong. I've had no problems using the 75KW Evie Charger, which has left me wondering if any other GV60 owners have had success with the 350KW version.
I would greatly appreciate your feedback and experiences regarding this matter. Your insights could potentially help identify the root cause of the problem and find a suitable solution. Thank you in advance for your valuable input!

I often charge with 350kW EA chargers in the US and never have disconnection issues. Note that the GV60 maxes out at 240kW.

I do very little DCFC but have used a 400kW dispenser a few times and a couple 350kW dispensers a few times. All have been successful and provided charging peaks around 230kWh.

Did you check PlugShare to see if others have had problems at this station? Although you might not have any luck there - I just looked and it looks like PlugShare data in Australia must be very incomplete - it shows NO DCFC stations in Melbourne, Perth or Syndey, I'm sure that's not true.

I looked at the Evie web site but couldn't find any information about what sort of 350kw dispensers they use. All of the pictures on their web site appeared to be ancient Tritium dispensers that are notoriously unreliable, and definitely not 350kw. Did you contact Evie?

Most likely those are 400v cars. Maybe the 350kw equipment Evie has doesn't support 800v cars?

Like the others have reported, I've had no problems using 350kw dispensers here in the US. So the car certainly works with 350kw equipment (maxing out at about 240kw, as mentioned above). But who knows about the Evie equipment you were trying to use. Back in the "old days" it was common for different types of cars to have trouble with different charging equipment, that seems to be mostly solved here in the US. I think it's most likely that the problem is on Evie's end, though that's not much help to you if that is the only charger you have access to.

Thank you all for your response. I just read one solution from a UK owner. On his fourth attempt to get Genesis to fix this, the technician tried it out on a 350KW charger and noticed that the charger did not lock on properly because the cable was too heavy. They held the cable until they heard the plug click on properly. Since then, he has had no trouble using the fast charger. I might just try this in the next few weeks.

After three failed attempts by Genesis Australia over many months to resolve the charging issue, I took the matter into my own hands. I followed a clever solution from a UK contributor: firmly holding the very heavy 350 kW charger cable as the charge began. The cable's weight was clearly pulling the car's charging port to one side. By holding it steady for a second, I felt the crucial 'click' as it locked in securely, and the car charged without issue. It seems the port simply needs more support to handle the sheer weight of the high-powered cable. Case dismissed and closed! 26-Sep-2025

Same here.

I recently had an experience at a 350 kWh EA charger where my session ended almost immediately after starting. The app had not refreshed and I thought the vehicle was still charging and showed up to find I had been charged idle fees.

I wondered if the cable was at a weird angle and repositioned my car and got it very close to the charger so I didn't have to pull the cable as much. Reconnected, and the next session was uneventful.

I would speculate there was an issue with the connection in your case. Definitely try and position the vehicle so that you have the least amount of strain on the cable where it is connecting to the charging port.
