  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i've recently begun commuting ~40 mi. each way daily and although gas mileage-wise, i am getting somewhere around 25-26 mpg and very happy with it, i just can't say no to driving on HOV lane alone and am going to lease a chevy volt. i am selling the genesis to carmax in norcal. beautiful car and i was very happy with it, but the temptation of HOV lane just is too strong.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Several of us could arrange a small memorial service.

We thought about a Volt. You can get a Jetta TDI for half the price. Our MPG is consistently 44-45 on the freeway

We need to buy a car for my wife and the Jetta would be higher on my short list of choices (right now #1 is Ford Fusion Hybrid, #2 is Hyundai Sonata Hybrid), but I am a bit nervous about the reliability. How's yours been?

No problems thus far. Have already put 15k miles on it in 6 months.:(

The Volt is not for bigger guys.. I sat in one and it felt like I had a applied a body-painting.. it was that "snug" on me..

i am sure jetta is a nice car, but my goal is not to save gas/fuel. it is the ability to drive in HOV lane by myself. :) jetta can't do that. volt can.

maybe true. i am not a small guy, either, and i've had volt for three days now and although it felt snug at first, i think i am getting used to it.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to pay the HOV fines and pay the few hundred dollars a year in difference in cost of gas than to buy a Volt?

you are kidding, right? HOV violation starts at $481.

and gas? i think i used about $5 worth of gas. that's ~350 miles of driving.

California laws/policy/budget is disgusting anyhow...no wonder why that entire state is bankrupt.
