  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I occasionally get false warnings from my front sensors, usually while
parked at a stoplight. Anyone else experiencing this ?

False indications from the visual display in between the tach and speedo, or false indications that go all the way to aural alert?

Were you first in line at the light, I'd guess? Are you sure nothing was moving in front of the car? Dogs, kids ;-) etc... Were other cars crossing in front of yours when the alert appeared?

I haven't seen this myself, but I have heard of it happening in other cars with such systems.... Were the sensors dirty??

Although I have a Coupe, I assume both models use shared parts. My Coupe's rear sensors seem to be very sensitive and will false occasionally. I'm currently keeping an eye on the situation in case it becomes annoying.

Just adding to the "info pile"... :)

My 4.6/tech gave me a few false warnings from the front sensors while I was driving with no cars in front for at all. Only the front sensors gives these false warnings. The sensors are clean.

Mine have done it in the past and actually gave false warnings today as I was behind one car at a stoplight. It rained about a million gallons:eek: since last night. Not sure if this has anything to do with it.

It only has gave me false warning before when I was driving through snow.

dirt/debris can cause false warnings on these systems, but I have not experiance any false warnings at all when clean

NO, sensors are clean & NOTHING in front of me. Visual & Aural signal. First at the light. Happened a few times so far..

YES,
I get it all the time. Especially in the COLD were there are greater variations in temp. Or from another car's exhaust in front of me. sewer system etc.

It only does it will stoped/parked. It got so bad I had to turn it off. Now that it is warmer, I don't get it narly as much.

:confused:Anyone with a suggestion on mileage for the first oil change. I'll hold off till the second change before I go to synthetic.
