Get your car on jack stands so you have your jack free. You might need your jack to install the rear collars. I had to use my jack to "position" the subframe so the collar would fit. Basically the jack will align the subframe.
Being comfortable would be another important factor. I didn't have a mechanics creeper when I did mine, so I destroyed my back on my concrete floor. My neck was also sore from keeping my head off my wet concrete. I just bought a creeper from Amazon that has an adjustable headrest, which I think I paid $37.
As to the collars, I found this a little confusing. There are 10 collars: 8 are the same exact size, and the other 2 are two different sizes from each other. Guessing is the only way I figured out where the smaller ones went, along with asking another member on the forum (zielritter). The small collars go on the rear (towards the bumper) front bolts. There are 3 on each side up front. The thinnest collar goes on the rear front bolt on the driver's side and the other less thin one goes on the rear front bolt on the passenger's side. I actually destroyed one of my collars from trying to install a large collar in place where a smaller one was supposed to be. Oops.
I have an electric impact which is very helpful, but I also had a breaker bar and a torque wrench. Torquing the bolts back down can be a bitch right around 100-110 lbs ft, so be prepared. Or as Zielritter told me, "I hope you work out"
hey, appreciate the response, I have access to a lift and air tools so everything should go pretty smooth. I feel ya working on a car with jackstands and crawling around on a concrete floor.

I wouldn't expect much improvement imo. However, I haven't driven my car enough with them installed yet, but hopefully they will improve the suspension comfort a tad as claimed by YouTube. It's worth doing just to get to tinker on the Genesis![]()
Alright got it done, took about 1.5 hours between BS'ing and what not.
Installation was pretty easy, front seemed to be misaligned a bit, so we loosened all 6 bolts and everything went fine. Thin collars worked for driver and passenger side.
Rear was cake, loosen the nut and bolt for the front cover and insert and install. same with the rear of the rear subframe remove nut and insert the collar and put the cover and nut back on.
I noticed right away that my steering wheel was centered again, it was bugging me that the steering wheel before was cocked to the right a bit and the car tracked left as soon as you let the wheel go.
Now its centered and the drifting feeling is almost gone. The car does feel a bit tighter, seems like the suspension is absorbing the impacts better. Steering feel was better but since I'm on the base 17in wheels with tall sidewalls any transient response is lost with the crappy tires.
Overall, this upgrade should be done by everyone I'd say. Easy and makes the car that much better.
