  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Had my car for a year now and love it, however. For the last few months my Equus has had some strange and intermittent problems. IE.A/C not working for several minutes at a time, rear window shades not going all the way up, Navigation system not starting up, brake lights not working. Took it in for a 7K mile check up and after 5 days they found the starter was bad ordered a new one. Took another 5 days to get the starter, they installed it and returned the car to me. The dealership was great, service guy was polite, they picked up the car for the service and delivered a loaner Santa Fe for me to drive. All in all they handled it well except for the additional 5 day delay to order a starter from somewhere else. (guess they shipped it ground). I am posting this because of the unsafe condition of driving around with no tail lights. If you hear a few seconds of "ticking" prior to the starter engaging, kind of like when there is not enough battery to turn the car over you may have the same problem. Hopefully mine was an aberration and not a design flaw in the starter. All in all still happy with my car the dealership, One plus is I know I would ever buy a Santa Fe.

I'm a little confused by this:
Are you saying that a bad starter caused your tail or brake lights to not work? Or is that a separate issue that was addressed at the 7K mark? If so, how?
As for the Santa Fe, shouldn't your dealer have given you another Equus or at least a Genesis? That's how they advertise it.
Thanks.
