  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just wonder if others have the problem of being reminded of service required from so many different places.
First, I service my own cars. Have been doing it all my driving life of approximately 60 years.
I keep records of all services of any kind. My computer will remind me when something is due.
My sweet wife will fill in the warranty book in the glove box.
I update services in MyHyundai. Right now it says service is overdue and just below that it shows it was serviced 2500 miles ago.
The car is setup to show that service is due. I guess I could fix that myself.
The dealer where I bought the car sends e-mails saying service is due. I reply that I take care of that.
I get letters in the mail from Hyundai saying service is due. Call your dealer. I don't know what department it comes from.
I get messages on the screen in the car. I don't know where they come from but it is different from the ones coming from the car.

Most of them I just ignore. Some bother me and I have to figure out what they are saying needs service. I really hate it when I get one of these messages 1000 or more miles from from home going down the road at 70 or 80 mph.

What would you suggest to fix this problem?

It all goes away after awhile

You can turn off the in-car reminder, it is in settings under "service", I think you just check the box so it is blank.

I do all my own service as well, I simply ignore the dealer e-mails and do not use the in-car reminder as I have my own system. Interestingly, I just got a survey from Hyundai as to why I did not use the dealer for any of my service and DIY was not even an option to check. I guess not many of use do our own.

DIY on the V8 oil/filter posts are a rare bird - as it's a real bear.

It's much easier if you suction out the oil - Mercedes style - though.
