Shipping new car

Have any owners here bought vehicles from a remote dealer and had them shipped? If so, I'd love to hear experiences... recommendations for shipper... Open vs. Covered...horror stories... anything related.

I'm considering a West Coast/East Coast transport.

I had looked at shipping a car about 1200 miles. For a closed van it was about $500 more.

I've always used uship.com. I've shipped from FL to CA, UT to CA and within CA. You can get estimates for open and closed without creating an account or opening a bid. All the transporters are insured and are usually part of a larger company. It is very easy, once you open a bid just let it run its course and then you can select the carrier based on either price or speed of delivery. The FL to CA was delivered 3 days after it was picked up. Never had any issues.
