Should I start my 2012 Genises 3.8 coup.

A friend of mine whos been a reliable part time mechanic for small jobs recently helped mre with an issue. I hit a planter curb at night. Dead center of front lower frame bar. I pushed the bar back enough to cause all my oil to leak out. Upon inspection, I had hit the oil filter so hard it bent back and cracked the housing around a block bolt hole. i pulled off the housing. And went to look for new housing. Friend came over. When I was gone. And knows he has freedom to fix if he wants. So he proceeds to pull metal bolt hole washer type thing out of broken hole. Put this craxy epoxy on the tiny cracks put the washer into the hole and epoxyed the few other external cracks. Then he put it back on. Then he put filter back into housing and tightened it and replaced oil plug. Im not trying to drive anywhere far without taking oil back out. Replacing filter. With new o ring and new washer on plug with good oil. I know these should have been replaced. My question is did that housing need a gasket. I didnt see one when i pulled off the housing. Could it have stuck to block. Or does it need or even have one. Do you think the epoxy will be able to withstand the pressure. And will the old oring and old plug washer be sufficient. I am not wanting to find out any or all will leak oil all over again. Or should i be ok. For a trip to the parts store
