Okay, so I was rear ended about a month ago in my 2015 3.8 sedan and the other persons insurance finally got back with me with an estimate. They said take the estimate to the shop of my choice. My question is would it be better to take it to a big chain shop in my area (like Caliber, Service King, Maaco's, etc.) or should I take it to a local body shop I've used in the past and had a good experience with? Which would get me a better chance of getting OEM parts and the job done right? I know the local shop has very reasonable prices and last time I used them they even threw things in at no extra charge (like fixing other scratches on the car unrelated to the accident). For reference, the damage on the car is only a few scratches, but of course I want it fixed and checked for frame damage at the same time. Also, it seems like this insurance company is kind of small and doesn't contract with any body shops or at least they haven't said anything about that. Any insight is appreciated.
