  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2009 Genesis sedan 3.8 .
My Side marker light went out Passenger side . its the orange light on the side of the head light To pass inspection we need to replace it.

This requires bumper and headlight removel $$$ ..but hear me out

I have looked at the pictures and i wonder if there is an"approach" through the tire liner . it would require making an access panel through the liner and replacing the bulb. (Red arrow )side marker.webpheadlight.webpHeadlight 2.webpWheel.webp

I wanted to see if you guys have any thought on the crazy idea.

PS Also if any one ever replaced it how much did it cost ?

I was able to change the turn signal bulb from above by simply removing the black plastic trim panel along the front of the car. Try removing that, then remove the turn signal bulb to get a little more finger room, to reach the marker bulb.

I'd hesitate to cut the tire liner area as that would let road water and grime into the backside of the lamp assembly and other stuff in that area... increasing the wear/corrosion rate. You probably can unclip most of the liner and flex it backwards enough to reach the bulb.

Well, I found out today that Side Marker light bulb on passenger side in my Genny went out. And I have the same headlight assembly as yours.

I am not happy of the perspective of removing bumper and headlight assembly to replace that bulb, so your idea of an "approach" through the tire liner sounds very interesting. I will call dealership on Monday just to get a quote for replacement.

Fortunately we don't have inspections in my state so driving without light is not a big of a deal.

"Approach" through the tire liner will not work.
