  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

We are at odds between getting a GV70 or a GV80. We are both in our late 50’s and are empty nesters. Wife would drive this solo about 85% of the time to and from her office. She saw the 79 and fell in love and then someone pointed out the 80. The things that are deciding factors, she’s 5’2” and I am 6’2. She doesn’t do well with technology but needs heated seats, lumbar support, ground clearance, and heated steering wheel. Outside of that her only criteria is getting a “ two tone “ interior and that 3.5T.

For me I feel the 70 with 3.5 Sport Advance would be the sweet spot. Any thoughts you current owners care to share please ?

Me and my wife are in our 60's. Empty nesters like you. We got the GV80 because it is a plusher vehicle. The GV70 is sportier and as such is tuned (suspension) to be sportier than the GV80. The GV80 is a bit plusher and is a bit larger. Rear passenger room is better on the GV80 for additional adult passengers (or our dogs).

If these are not issues for you, then the GV70 would be an excellent choice. If they are, you should look at the GV80.

I went shopping for the GV70 and could not find one. I could not even find one to test drive. Finally there was one at dealership that was delivered damaged they let me sit in. The battery was dead so I could not even move the seat.
They did have a few GV80 so I took one for a test drive. I did not want the bigger car as I came from an Audi Q5 which is the same size as the GV70.
I liked the feel so I got it. Now I am happy I got the bigger car. More space, better back seat for my passengers and more cargo space for when I go to Home Depot.
It wood be hard for me to go back to the GV70 size.
The seats have multiple adjustments that would fit your wife no problems. I am 5' 11" ( I used to be 6' 🥴) and have plenty of space in my GV80 but I can not speak for the 70
Good luck and happy hunting.
PS, I love this car. It is my second favorite car of all the cars I have owned in my 70 years.

We have another vehicle for our dog to ride in, and honestly it’s just the two of us. I’m trying to explain to her getting a G80 for her solely to ride in is just a waste. Heck even in my Audi I could have left the plastic on the rear seats since no one goes back there. The sad part is in my Audi I have 4 way climate control and thats just a waste lol.

I’m 58 and have been retired for the last 12 years so I don’t travel much. My wife works 40 minutes from our home but again she is the only one in the car lol. My car seat moves soo far back till I feel like I am driving from my trunk so if I do travel, I take that. Just need a great vehicle for a 5’2 woman to make her smile.

When and if I go out, this is what I am in.

Why be a solo driver in a bus? The 80 is quite a bit larger than the 70. I suppose if she wants the plusher ride, then you have to go with the 80.

we aren't empty nesters yet, so I drive a Palisade for those times we need the space, but I got the wife the 70SP because of the smaller size. We live outside San Francisco, but there is still plenty of traffic, people, congestion so she feels more comfortable in a smaller car. We had an Odyssey minivan when we had 3 kids around, and let's just say she didn't do too well driving around a big bus.

my life really loves her GV70

I’m feeling I have her really leaning towards the GV70 3.5T Prestige.

Now to lock down a color combo that will make her smile.

Red, of those choices.
I have Silver with Red interior which was the top choice for us. Red with black interior is a nice combination
