SiriusXM Preset Station Won't Record

My SiriusXM Preset radio stations that have the "REC" record icon will only record while I am listening to that station. Previously, my car would start recording those stations the moment I started the car. While the car is continuously running I should be able to go to one of my SiriusXM preset stations that have the "REC" icon and be able to listen to the music on that station since the car started. I tried resetting the radio with the paperclip. I tried deleting and adding preset stations and that did not work. Does anybody have any ideas? I have an extended warranty, but I am afraid if it is a simple software issue they will charge me.
 
I have the same problem so you’re not alone.
 
It’s likely not a problem but, rather, a feature.
 
Mine used to record the "REC" stations from the moment the car was started, but it currently doesn't. I suspect it may have changed with a software update, but I can't recall when it changed or tie it to a specific update.
