  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Have G 2015 5 series. This past week my SirusXM link keeps dropping. Have called SirusXM '9' separate times for a 'refresh' signal and does come back on. But after I shut engine off and restart, the link drops every time. Have an appt' this coming Monday, and local dealership has stated that they have had another similar case with G 2015. Anyone else having this issue?

The is a software updated that fixes this problem. Also note that some forum members had to have a new head unit installed (covered under warranty)...

I have the 3.8 AWD Ultimate with the 9" display. A couple of months ago, my SiriusXM would not come back on after I turned the engine off. It had worked perfectly for about seven months then just failed all at once. The display would say that I had no subscription. I called SiriusXM thinking something was wrong with my account and they had shut me off. My account was OK so they ran several tests to try to determined what the issue was. After a half hour of testing, they determined the problem was on my end.

I resorted to using an iPhone app to request a refresh whenever I got into the car until I could schedule the car for service. The refresh worked fine but was a pain to have to deal with every time I started the car.

There have been a few other members on this forum reporting the same or similar problem. One poster said he had his head unit replaced and that fixed the problem. So I went to the dealer and demonstrated my problem and told them of other people on this forum with the same problem. The dealer replaced the head unit with a new one without question. I got the car back the same day. If you do this, make sure they transfer your SD card with the maps program since the replacement units do not come with a SD card.

I have heard about a software update but I doubt that was my problem. I would think a software problem would be somewhat intermittent and just work unreliably. Mine unit worked one day and didn't the next. Therefore, I believe mine had some type of hard failure.

The dealer should be able to help you. Good Luck.

Jim

Dealers have the software update on a TSB.

Software update today didn't fix mine. In fact - it wouldn't even load onto the radio. They are ordering a new radio.
