  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What do you think a Genesis will be called in ownership slang?
For example: BMW - Bimmer

For us, it’s a Genny. Nothing else has ever stuck.

This is what I call the ones I have/had:

2009 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 - Kimchi Mercedes

2021 Genesis G70 - Kimchi BMW

2019 Kia Stinger - Kimchi Panamera

Some might find them offensive. Because I love these cars, to me they are terms of endearment, not disparagement.

In general, I agree Genny or Gennie is probably the most commonly used nickname. FWIW, I prefer the feminine spelling with "ie", which also helps to differentiate from the "y"-ending, which a lot of folks use as abbreviation for generators. But that's counting turtle hair.

Genesis

Calling it a "genny" just sounds to soy-boyish.

I know you're waiting for someone to comment, but it appears that there's no reply at all.
But it's nice to know that some can read behind the lines.

On a related note... most of us have one Genesis in our garage. What to call them if we have two?

Geneses?

Genesises?

Genesis's?

Genesii?

I call mine a car. If I had two, would say "cars". If I want to show off and be more formal, it is my "automobile".

I had a teacher in 5th grade, Ms. Gates, who referred to her au-to-Mo'-bull. Mobile pronounced just as in mobile phone. Not au-to-mo-beel'.
We thought she was weird and this was just one of her pedantic curiosities.
