  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

so this is a new one. Yesterday, after getting an oil change from the dealership, we noticed that the car reset itself after we turn it off. we couldn't figure out why. The car lost all the trip details and everything was gone.

As I backing out from the parking space, I noticed that the car lock up as I turn the wheel, this happens for a quick moment, but you will definitely notice that something is wrong. Also, the center console, the dashboard all flashes like it didn't get enough power and then the steering lockup. All these happen in a like a second, but if you are turning into the parking spot, it will cause some problem. if I were to turn the steering wheel during stationary, I can see all the lights went dim, the dashboard flashes, and the lock up happen.

I checked the the battery cables and make sure it is secured, and they are. So maybe the alternator? what do you think. I will be bring the car to the dealership Monday morning.

so got my car to the dealership this morning. They came back with a steering hydraulic issue. Part alone will cost over 1600 plus labor, however, the shop is doing a goodwill repair without me asking. Part is being ordered and ETA will be tomorrow. Stay tune.

Translation: they screwed something up when your car was serviced.
