  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recent owner of a 09 Genesis V6 for my son. Found a very clean example/full dealership maint doc history with 107k miles. Paid $7k and I LOVE this sled. Using it as a commuter until my son gets his DL. Replaced brakes/rotors all the way around and can't believe how much car this is for the $$$.

Fast forward a couple months and I now have a tiny fluid leak from the bell housing. Curiously, it isn't weeping from the weep hole at 6 o'clock. There is a very tiny amount of 'bubbling' coming from about 4:30 on the bell housing/trans mating point when looking forward. Leaves about a dime sized drop of fluid on the ground after driving.

I'm thinking pump seal R&R but don't know the internals well enough to determine. Like the two 10mm bolts that face down at 5:30 and 6:30...what in the heck do they keep in place that would prevent fluid from traveling to the weep hole vice 'bubble' out at the bell housing/tranny mating joint?

I have a lift at home so getting the trans out is doable; just don't have the seal removal tools called out in the repair manual.

Appreciate your thoughts and time-

~John
