  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

YIPEE! Reading through some of the information posted on this site, I came across the following instruction within a document describing use of the Smart Cruise Control:
"Press button on the steering wheel to turn on Cruise Control.
Then press and hold the vehicle distance button for more than 2 seconds to toggle between Smart Cruise Control (SCC) and Cruise Control (CC) mode."

This is a welcome feature, as sometimes I find the Smart Cruise Control annoying in some traffic conditions.

I agree, nice to be able to turn it off when wanted.

Another new feature worth mentioning is they also have an automatic/manual switch for the folding side mirrors. Basically they fold and unfold as car is started or stopped. :D

Funny, Tech package owners here have been bitching for years about not being able to turn it off. Is it not covered in the manual?

I agree the auto folding mirrors is also a nice adder. I've lost count of the number of times I have driven away with them still folded. The more I read about this new car, the more impatient I get for its arrival.

The extract I posted was from a features sheet for the new 2015 car. I don't think it will work with the previous models, although I am going to check that out this evening just to make sure.

Where is the extract you say you posted?

Wow, that 22 pg reference guide really made my day! Pg 6 refers to the DRL's that some of us have been wondering about. Nice read......indeed! Most informative. Thanks for sharing. ;-)

Thanks, but I just forwarded the information.

Just to clarify, this defeat function does not work on my 2012 Genesis with Tech Package.

From the 2015 data sheet:
If your vehicle is equipped with Advanced smart cruise control and you wish to eliminate the vehicle distance function, you can change cruise control setting to a standard setting.Press the Cruise Control button on the steering wheel to turn on Cruise Control. Then press and hold the vehicle distance button for more than 2 seconds to toggle between Smart Cruise Control (SCC) and Cruise Control (CC) mode. Please refer to your Owner's Manual for more information.

It's Deja-vu all over again :)

Sweet .... I like that they left the +/- option on the shift lever instead of only having paddle shifters.
