  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Very easy to open the smart key and fix the pocket button presses.

Small flat blade in the slot after the real key is removed, open remove the module and silicone membrane. Gently press the white edge of the button and push it out from the housing then file the center nub down to make the button harder to press.

Only file a little at a time for each button to get the way you like it. Too much and you won’t be able to press the button at all (that’s what I did on the panic which is what I wanted I don’t need anyway).

Nice work! And thank you for the pics and explanation.

Now I kind of want to actually make a custom case for it so it's smaller. Problem is that I have no idea how to go about doing that. Haha.

I'm so gonna do this on my wife Sorento fob.
It goes off super easy in pockets.

3D printer and some patience. Something to keep in mind, a little extra bulk may protect the internals a bit better

I was thinking maybe take the internals and make a small leather case with the module sandwiched in between.

what exactly is the purpose of this?

and BTW the squared flat edge of the physical key can be used to open the case, (actually designed to) no need for a screw drivers.

To prevent accidental button presses as it is rather sensitive and large.

An no the key won’t fit in the small slot. At least mine won’t.

At first glance you would think it is too thick. Take a good look at the tip and try it. Tup is machined to fit.
