  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

On the 2015 Genesis 3.8 HTRAC AWD, I found what they call the 'snow mode'.

I was familiar with the ECO mode, sport mode and normal mode, dealer highlighted them to me. But I found out, through reading the owner's manual, that if you hold the mode button down for just a second longer, you are in the snow mode. What extra benefit is the snow mode if you are already driving an AWD

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
basically it just makes the gas pedal super delayed. you can push about halfway down on the pedal before the car starts to go. its really there to help people that don't get the concept of "don't floor it when its icy or snowing out" it probably also starts the transmission in a higher gear, but I have no proof of that.

I just went through any icy week here in Texas with a rear wheel drive 5.0 in snow mode. car preformed beautifully! I was very impressed.

I used it yesterday on my street where it is still covered and chunky. I could feel it had less power, and then when I got on the main road and switched it to eco it loosened up.

I used snow mode last week in NC when they had 6+ inches and I have to say I was very impressed. My car (RWD) did remarkably well.

I will confirm it is really a tool for people who do not know how to drive in snow. I personally found it almost dangerous as throttle response is really, really, really diminished. Use with caution and only when really needed as in getting out of a hole or up a slippery driveway. I strongly suggest you do not drive with this continually on just because there is snow outside.

The car does handle great in any mode but I got mine 5 days ago so I am still at the "try everything out" phase. Like I said I used it in the choppy snow on my street and took it out of snow mode once I got to the main road. No need for it in traffic.

I get the best mpg with snow mode btw. last recorded 24mpg combine. in normal mode and eco about 17/21 avg.

You are absolutely correct on the snow mode, thank you. Now, can you tell me how the snow mode works on the 5.0 RWD. Is it similar to the ESC? Or does is just do the same as on the 3.8 with the delay in the gas pedal. Thank again.
