  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm a new (2014) Equus owner and am considering snow tires for the winter. If I do, can I put the same size tire all around and if so, would I need to change the wheel sizes also? If I go with the staggered snows, can I go one width smaller (245 to 235/275 to 265) as suggested for snow, if I can find them?
I would probable want to put them on the OEM wheels and then put the OEM tires on aftermarket wheels. Any suggestions? Sorry if I seem confursed.

I installed Michelin Ice snow tires. Mine are 245/45-19s all around. The oem rear tires are larger 275s and the rim width is also a bit larger. BUT, according to Michelin specs and TireRack the rear rims will accept a 245 nicely. Michelin does not make Ice in 275s. If you insist on oem dimension winter tires, your selection will be very limited.
Did 8k miles on these tires. They are great in rain, snow, ice etc. with no detriment in handling. Also, these tires are "low rolling resistance" tires, which means better gas mileage.

Thanks for your comment. I did not get snows last winter and we in CT had a mild winter. I really don't think we'll have two years in a row like that so I decided like you to go with the 245's all around however I got 4 new wheels all the same size so I don't have to swap tires every year. Got the wheels at discountedwheelwarehouse.com and they could not have been more helpful and a great price. I got the wheels and I'm about to get the same Michelin X-Ice Xi3 tires.
