  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So, custom Infotainment firmware may be reasonably possible after all.

Looks like the key that Hyundai uses for Infotainment updates is now known...

This was a rookie mistake by a small programming team that understood the need to develop a low level encryption framework, and lacked knowledge of how to choose and manage encryption keys.

This is pretty trivial to fix in the future (and might already have been patched).

I initially found it strange that the 05/04/2022 release was followed by a 05/23/2022 release for many newer Genesis head units. I would not be at all surprised if the unencrypted contents of those two builds was identical, but the encryption used on the compressed tar-balls was different because that patched that security hole.
