  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I purchased a 2011 4.6 the beginning of November. Since then it has been in the shop twice. The first issue was the didn’t PDI the car when I bought it due to a dealer transfer they told me. My biggest issue is that they can't get the car in alignment. The first time in the shop for the PDI and alignment it came back and it was better, but the car still pulls to the left at 70mph. Today is day 3 in the shop and they sent it to a third party for alignment. They tried to tell me that if this doesn’t fix it then they may need and aftermarket piece or to send it to a frame shop. I told them that this was unacceptable and I would take up the issue with someone higher up than a service manager. I told them I wanted it fixed like new. Obviously something is bent and I want it replaced not bent back or corrected with an aftermarket piece.

I had a hard enough time buying a Hyundai coming from a Cadillac, Jaguar and other lux vehicle. Now this has left a really bad taste in my mouth...

Has anyone else had a similar issue with alignment?

Try driving in a different lane and see if the car feels different.
I did notice a difference from fast to slow lane, annoying

I am aware that the lanes tapper for run offs. I have driven 700+ miles in all different lanes and different roads and no difference unfortunatly.

Search this forum - there has been quite a lot of discussion about alignment/pulling to the left.

Bad tires! My guess. I had a set of Firestones on a Mercury and the car pulled left. Changed tires problem gone. My 2011 4.6 with Dunlops doesn't pull but I don't like the tires. There is a term for the defect but I don't recall it. What kind of tires came on it?

I hope that the tires have been checked. Years ago I worked for Goodyear and we had an issue with thousands of tires of a particular tread that caused pulling and no alignment would fix it. The tires should have been recalled but were only replaced as the complaint came in. The only way to know for sure is to put a new set of tires. Swaping the tires from side to side or front to back will not help find the problem if more than one tire is bad. There were times at Goodyear a car would have a complete set of tires that caused pulling.

Yeah that story sounds fishy. Either you have bad tires or they need to be balanced if your alignment has been thoroughly checked by a professional. Have you knocked a curb in the car? Could be a bent rim, alignment isn't the only thing that would cause pulling to the left so I suggest you explore more options.

There is a thread floating around this forum from members stating the same. My car did it as well, but an alignment took care of the problem.

I have the dunlops too. You would think if the want a true luxury car they would put a better tire on it like a Michilen

A out of balanced wheel ot a curb wheel (which i haven't) would cause a vibration and I have none of that.

Got the car back yesterday and it seems to be fixed. They sent it to a third party alignment shop and it was determined that it was still out of alignment. That should mean the alignment guy at Hyundai did not do his job correctly the first time. FIRE HIM!

They also sent it to the body shop to make sure nothing was bent or off kilter. Then they road tested the car with 3 techs for 130 miles. Filled it up with gas and cleaned it inside in out to try and over shadow the fact they didn't do thier job the first time.

Needless to say (eventhough I have a friend that works there) I will nor be going back to that dealer for maintenance.

Just glad to have her back....I think
