    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. So how is the 8 speed Hyundai transmission holding up?

Yup. Out of curiosity, I priced out a Volvo S90 Hybrid because I saw it as a possible replacement for my 5.0 in 2021 and the Volvo came to almost $100k in Canada. I do quite like it, a full size 400hp hybrid sedan. I'm renting one from Hertz in California in October thought it's probably the weaksauce version.

Back on topic, in my 5.0 I do notice a thunk if I give it some throttle while I'm cruising. I'm guessing it's the AWD kicking in?
 
The transmission seems to be pretty smooth right now.

It doesn't shift very quickly like a sports car, but it is very smooth. I think that the Kia Stinger has this model, but shifts more like a sports car.

It's possible that some time in the early 2020s, Hyundai/Genesis will update the DH/G80 into a new generation. Perhaps they will offer a hybrid? They have been pushing plugin hybrids at their concept shows lately.
 
I had the fluid drain/fill at the dealership 1 time so far. The 8 speed transmission seems to be near perfect still after over 100,000 miles.
