  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Software update for pathetic cruise control?

Has there been a software update for our lousy cruise control? My 2012 "hunts" 2-3 mph below the set speed and back to set speed. Irritating, because my other cars maintain speed almost perfectly. We won't even go into the "intelligent" cruise system that brakes going down hills, etc.

I am considering a G90, but if the cruise acts similarly, it is a deal breaker.

Maybe you have a vacuum leak? Have you had someone look at it?

My G80 holds as good as any other car I've had so that should not be an issue. Yes, the Smart Cruise will brake on a hill. If you set the speed to say, 50, it will maintain it so you don't get a ticket from drifting up. Yes, we all coast down the hill and take advantage of gravity but the cruiser at the bottom of the hill does not see it that way.

With the push of a button though, you can change from Smart Cruise to regular if desired. I usually hit the cancel button until I get to the bottom and speed comes back to normal. One of my previous cars did not brake on hills. Cost me $50 for the gravity ride.
