  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Time for new rubber so thought I'd light em up. Back road, no one in sight at the time, of course.

How much are the Gen's new shoes going for these days? How many miles did you get out of the original set?

On my originals I have just shy of of 40k on them. Tires I'm looking at (Potenza S-04 Pole Position) are about $700 on tire rack.

Those are the same tires I am looking at. The 245 version. Pretty positive reviews.

WOW! What tires did you have on?

I got about 20K out of my S04's that came on the car and 20K out of my Conti DW's I replaced them with. Both in a 245. But I DRIVE the car. :)

Which ones did you like better in terms of grip in both dry and wet weather?

They were real close. The DW seemed to have a little more grip when new but at about 15K it seemed worse than the S04.

You should have called me before you did that, we could get some proper shots :D

Thanks for the info. I have DWs on my wife's car and she's quite happy with them(she has a very heavy foot). I saw the S04s being higher rated and was leaning towards them for my Genny. 20K miles is perfectly fine with me. You can't really expect more with softer grippier tires.

Excellent photo!! That was me about 2 months ago. My first tire upgrade was to the General Gmax AS03 245/40/19. Trust me it is a excellent performance tire wet /dry / light snow. I recently had my rear rims widened to a 19x9 with 275/35/19 tires.
