  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

ZF 6HP's have an issue that as they age, they leak internally, lose pressure and will accelerate internal wear and tear. The shift quality degrades over time when this happens but it is nowhere near drastic enough for many people to notice, especially, if like me, you bought yours with some miles on it already.

This is not limited to just Hyundai, the same transmission and same issue are present in the $450,000 Rolls Royce Phantom and dozens of other vehicles all across the price spectrum.

I imagine the drive shaft was the cause of worn guibos? Those rubber flexible couplers are not meant to last the life of the vehicle. They need to be inspected regularly for cracks and dry rotting once you pass 60k or 4 years and yes Hyundai does not service them without an entire drive shaft, but if you inspect the guibo you will find a casting number and if you Google that, you will find replacements at about $65 each.

Curious about the rest of your issues though, currently I am at 86K without any repairs that was not preventive maintenance.
