  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Every so often you run into a group of folks that understand the value of the consumer and how exceed their expectations, South Point is one of them!

Outstanding and love my new R-Spec!!

Frank

I did not buy there, but I went there once for installation of the steering wheel TSB. They are first rate. The weather was miserable, so the service manager drove me to a local restaurant in his own car and picked me up afterwards.

My steering wheel is acting up again after 18 months, and I will go there again for the latest TSB rather than where I bought.

My personal experience with the service department of Jenkins Hyundai of Ocala Florida has been very positive.

Pete Palys is an excellent service manager who goes the extra mile for you. He does not push service that isn’t needed, but will take the time to explain the recommended service and let you make your own decision.

The technicians are well trained and capable to handle just about problem you bring them. They are willing to share information with you and everyone are friendly down to earth folks.

Glad you had a good experience at South Point Hyundai in Austin, Frank. I bought my Genesis there three years ago, and they lied through their teeth to get the sale. I am happy with the car but not the sales staff. Hopefully, the offending ones are no longer employed there.

The service dept at South Point Hyundai in Austin was great this morning. I was in and out right on schedule and service was friendly. They had to order a new control module for the steering wheel tilt, so I will have to go back in a week or two.

My car came back washed and vacuumed.

I have had good service experience at Southpoint. I got very annoyed with their sales department however when I was shopping and went elsewhere.

I've had an exceptional experience with the South Point (Austin) dealership's sales people. I've purchased two Genesis 3.8 (2012, 2015), both fully loaded. I'm sufficiently intelligent to realize that someone in my price category is probably seeing a different treatment than someone purchasing a used vehicle or Elantra. That said, for a non-luxury purchasing experience, it sure beats the silly behavior I saw at Infinity or even Mercedes dealerships in the area. The former was overly aggressive and the latter snobby indifferent. Several area mainstream dealerships need to abandon their 80s training workshops. Holding keys hostage that were provided for trade-in evaluations? Good grief.

The actual display/service area in South Point will never be confused for a Lexus or even Acura dealership. They're clean, neat, and comfortable but the decorations and nice seating can't mask the age of the building and the tight space.

Actual service delivery? Much closer in appearance to Walmart than to Lexus, but the intent is very good. Customer treatment continues to improve substantially, but this dealership is servicing far more vehicles than its facility and staff can handle. They often are caught forgetting details, losing their customers in the shuffle, and giving up on problems. They provide shuttles, will occasionally sneak out a loaner for the premium buyers, but trying to serve low-end buyers and Equus/Genesis buyers from the same dealership is nuts. Hopefully they figure this all out before it all comes apart.

I bought my 2nd Genesis from Round Rock Hyundai. The sales people were decent but their service dept is total GARBAGE! Every time i take the car in for something the give it back saying no problem found.

I guess i will drive down to Austin and try South Point instead of the clowns up in Round Rock.

Not sure it will be any better, south point has a serious ghetto rep, for a reason, and I agree round rock is just as annoying. I went up to rr to take a test of an awd ultimate and the guy just didn't know jack about the car, it was fairly frustrating. My mom has never had a smooth experience at round rock, EVERY time has been a hassle. South point can't even return a call when you leave a message with the desk as a customer wanting to spend 50 grand as soon as possible because the three agents they may actually have are someplace else.

Austin is just a terrible place to buy a car. I have been looking at houston dealerships, which tend to be about a grand to 1500 cheaper than austin on every trim level, but then my only two option for service are the clowns or the bangers...ugh

I would try san antonio, but I'd have to buy from world car, bad, or red mccombs, worse...and recognized as the most crooked sobs in TX.

So yeah prolly houston for me since Roger Beasley doesn't have an austin hyundai lot. I will post again when I buy, but ima get a 2016, so i likely have about 6-12 months before the serious deals kick in and its already killing me :(
