  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

SpitFire Tuning Chip

I sent email back in September because I was trying to get info for a fellow member.

Heard back from them already. email address is info@10fintec.com.

They have a canned tune with an extra OEM ECU. This can be shipped directly to your address. The price for a canned tune for your car ranges from $1365 - $1405 CAD, depending if you want the "pop and bang" feature.

I've decided to go with a custom dyno tune which is $800 CAD since they are about a 2 hour drive away. Just outside of Toronto. Custom tune will have to wait until they are re-opened after Covid closures. Probably another month or 2. I'll post when it happens. Not as concerned about the HP increase as just getting the car to run the best it can.

On their website they have a video for a R Spec on the dyno.

NICE! cant wait for results.

I think that that tune is a left overs from the 5.0 BTR that closed down because of erratic problems 5.0 owners were having. Look up some of the threads. Some worked okay, others not so. All didn't get more than what LAP did on my car as a test, and LAP decided not worth the effort because of the very low demand/cost and with the new dual turbo V6 coming out with ECU code that was already opened and a lot more available (Stinger and Gen 70 etc.). They also realized that though 5.0 owners talk the talk they don't necessarily walk the walk.

Correct, it appears to be the BTR tune. They sent a dyno result that showed about 30 WHP and 30 Torque at the wheel. Tuning appears more beneficial for turbo's.
I'm going for the custom tune that is done on the Dyno by David Lee, with TCU tune as well. Key there is it becomes a true sport mode with a 7,000 rpm red line and manual gear shifting. Think it also moves or removes the speed governor.

30WHP on a N/A is a nice gain but intake, headers, exhaust, bore tb, cams, pulley , then dyno tune would be ideal for maximum hp gains.

Very true. I'm pretty happy with the HP already and will be using the car as a daily driver. My interest is more in the shifting and also believe the TCU tune comes with a Launch Control feature as well. Save the tires a little bit when in fun mode.

"As for launch control features, we can do it, but we do not provide that feature for automatic transmissions because of the risk and potential damage it causes."

Pass on that then. :)

New to the forum and to the world of Genesis.

Just bought a 2013 R Spec. While reading up on it came across this Website. Thank You to all, made the decision to buy easier.

Came across a performance chip upgrade on eBay, one of many. Just wondered if anyone had heard of/reviewed them before.

SpitFire Tuning. 100% feedback on eBay, but they also do Nintendo stuff. Positive reviews on chips in past. SpitFire only appears on a Web Search as a dyno tuning company in India. The chip itself is reviewed SpitFire Tuning Performance Chip - Real Performance Chip Reviews

Ordered the chip. Just wanted any feedback before try it. Plugs into OBD2 and does not overwrite factory according to info.

Thanks Again.

Unfortunately i must concur. This is another NITRO-OBD blink scam like countless others. The 'review' site, realperformancechipreviews.com most likely is run by the same guys selling this crap out of their basement. Note the modules that are rated 'good' are always theirs. I'd cancel and send back asap before any engine damage can occur. I'd suggest going for a real tune

Already in the works.

10fintec responded pretty quickly. I was more interested in faster shifts or no auto upshift feature with a tune for tcu only. Unfortunately you have to buy the ecu $1300 + the tcu $900. Im gonna hold off for now. I've tuned with hptuners and almost was able to read the coding on the transmission. The codes for reading dodge and mercedes transmissions got to 97% before it crashed. I know hyundai has no issue copying to get their stuff done. I'm leaning a bit more towards mercedes coding to figure it out eventually. If all esle fails I will see my options about upgrading to the g80 transmission from 2018 because that is a huge improvement in shift speed.

I bought the Spitfire Chip for my 2014 F-Type S. It works fine - I did notice a difference in the throttle response, gear change and the exhaust note. The chip stoped working so I contacted Spitfire Tuning and I will now send it back for repairs. When I ordered the chip I did receive an email from Spitfire Tuning asking me model F-Type I had and what size is the motor. When I get the chip back I will go to a dyna tune to check it out.

I'd cancel the order if you can, you're going to be highly disappointed otherwise
You people aren't stupid you're just ignorant of the facts. I have a 2020 1500,5.7hemi and they are well known for lagging throttle performance. I installed a spitfire performance chip and the first day of install my fuel mileage went to thirteen per mile. I drove about 60 miles and lost all throttle lag , added more power and torque. The second day I drove another 60 and the gas mileage started to improve and by the time I got home I was at 19.8 mpg and still rising. The chip has done nothing to adversely affect any other on board systems. This mfer will get up and SCAT!

I just ordered one now ! Once it's received I will made a full review about it ! I have 2020 Genesis 5.0 BTW ^^
