  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Maybe this is old news to you guys, but I recently discovered that when in sport mode, if I turn on a cruise control it reverts to normal shifting mode behavior. When I turn off cruise control, and reverts back to sport mode behavior. I use cruise control quite a bit in the city so this works out pretty well.

On my 2019 3.8 G80, in sport mode the RPMs hover around 2000 in normal driving. But if I go to cruise control they drop about 500 RPM. This is good because it allows me to save fuel with cruise control turned on but when turned off, reverts to sport mode which offers more power.

It's just a feature I was unaware of.

If your G80 in sport is like my G70 in sport, the sensitivity of the throttle is hyper sensitive. I’ll have to try using the cruise in sport and see what mine does, but wondering if the cruise removes sport mode to soften up the throttle sensitivity so you don’t get a jerky ride?

On my car, cruise control only affects the RPM when in sport mode. As soon as I disengage cruise, the RPMs go back up. Having cruise turned on but not engaged has no effect on sport mode.

Sport mode does make my throttle response more sensitive and responsive, but not unreasonable. Kinda refreshing, actually. I have the 3.8 in the larger car.
