  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Pardon the naivete, but if I am being offered a 2013 model how can I be sure that it is 2013 and not 2012? VIN number? any major clues on the exterior or interior?

If it's a tech package, the DIS knob buttons are different. There is a Bluelink button that the 2012s dont have, and the button just to the front of the DIS know has a Menu button with folder buttons on each side. The 2012 has only a "back" button in this location.

10th digit of VIN is model year:
  • C = 2012
  • D = 2013
Or you could look at owners manual, etc, in glove compartment.

^ this is the easiest way. dont even need to open the car. just look at the bottom of the windshield in front of the driver seat, theres the vin

A very easy way to spot a 2013 is that it has a push-to-open drawer above the cigarette tray lid. In the 2012, there is an open storage area in this location.

Try the Monrooney label if a new car.

Try the Monrooney label if a new car.
Many cars sold as "new" have the label removed if they are to be test driven, demo, etc, (for obvious safety reasons).
