  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anybody had their sprint booster installed long term without issues? If this has been covered I apologize but couldn’t find anything under search. The problems I am having is having inconsistent takeoffs from a stop and unpredictable downshifts. I changed the setting on the sprint booster but does not correct the issue but I can tell the sensitivity does change. Removing it does correct it but I’m back to the sluggish boat. Certain times it takes off normally other times it lunges like I slammed the gas. I closely monitored how I’m pressing the pedal and even had the wife try..she said it was “sketchy” and felt what I was feeling. The downshifts are unpredictable and does it unnecessarily when around town and light on the pedal. It’s terrible on hills or slight inclines. I think of it this way, if I give 5% throttle the car acts like I gave it 40%. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Car has 65k, transmission was drained and filled at 64k.

I had my sprint booster for about 3 years; no problems other than an touchy gas pedal. I just only lightly press down on my gas pedal during normal driving and only press it half way down when doing hard acceleration. Took practice but I got used to the change in pedal control.

Since I am the only one who seems to be having issues with the sprint booster I have a feeling something else is going on. Car is going for service next week. Shop I talked to is thinking it’s something to do with the valve body or solenoids. He has done several transmission replacements on the first gen and he said it sounds similar to my situation. It’s under warranty so it couldn’t hurt. Also my Hyundai dealer is refusing to honor my third party warranty…what a joke.

Weird.

Hyundai should still repair the car under your third party warranty claim since Hyundai will get paid by that warranty company for the repair work. If anyone denies your claim; it would most likely be the third party warranty company since they are paying the repair bill.

There seems to be a difference between Hyundai and genesis dealerships. Hyundai only won’t touch my car and referred me to an authorized genesis dealership. It’s still a Hyundai dealership but is the only one in my area that sells genesis. They told me straight up that they will not accept third party warranties. I am tempted to call Hyundai and see what they have to say.

I never had any dealership from any of my old makes that I have owned decline my third party warranty before, however I did always use one from warranty companies that were highly rated issued by USAA.

Maybe the warranty company you are using "burned"(took too long to pay ) the dealership and is now flagged. Some third party warranty companies do give customers(deny claims if service record is not perfect) and repair shops a hard time(refuse to pay shops on time or haggle over the details of a repair covered).

The dealership manager probably stated not accepting any 3rd party warranty at all, but actually meant they will not take your specify 3rd party warranty provider.
